Their are three pillars of the Jedi. Force, Knowledge, and Self-Discipline---encompass all we do as Jedi and reinforce the precepts of the Jedi Code. Because the Force is in all things, it is rightfully set as the first pillar. If you new students (learners) know anything, you know this: The Force is an energy field created by all living things. We Jedi are blessed with the gift of swimming in the Force in our every moment --- breathing it, tasting it, riding its currents to our unique destinies. For the Jedi, the universe is never cold and directionless. The Force gives us purpose, and compels us to share our gifts with others. The Force is bigger than all of us, but expresses itself in two aspects. The Living Force is raw and close at hand. It is the life energy tingling around you when pass among plants and animals in a walk through a forest or jungle. When beings die you may sense it through the Living Force. When many die at once, the loss of their energy may even shock you, or more. All of your tangible Force abilities such as running, jumping, heightened senses, moving objects, or soothing the emotions of others --- are techniques by which we become agents of the Living Force. The Unifying Force is a vast cosmic power. You may not sense it yet, but with patience and insight you will. The Unifying Force is the stars and galaxies, the rippling surface of space and time. It is this voice that whispers of your destiny, and make no mistake --- the Force does have a will. To commune with the Unifying Force is to temporarily leave your body behind, allowing you to walk in the past or see the future. Some of the ancients believe it is possible to transcend death.
From the pages of the Jedi path.
The Jedi code should be your focus, as it will become yours. It is a philosophy that the Jedi order stands on. It's a pledge of protection to the citizens of your country, and the world. It's becoming one with and in the Force. A Jedi must be faithful to the spirit of the code. Every day a Jedi asks them self, do I understand it. We are part of an energy larger than ourselves, we play a role in the fabric of the universe that over shadows our incarnate understanding. The Jedi only need to remember the core teachings to live their lives as gifted, but humble, defenders of justice and all life forms as well as humanity. The heart of the Jedi Code is Mercy, Forgiveness, Empathy, and Compassion, without these one cannot help others work through problems they may have. There is no emotion; there is peace. Emotion resides in all of us, and is a great motivator to action about any subject. But that is not to say that emotion should be the soul driving force, or single response to any given subject or issue. Emotion wedded to logic is the starting point of any reaction we should take. If the reaction is only emotional, their may be no peace between parties, only resentment, and discourse follow. Emotion drives us to the desire of action, and logic provides us with solutions to the problems that ignited the emotion to begin with.By controlling our emotional response, takes emotion out of the equation given over to a logical response, taking the emotional rebuttal out of the differences their may be, bringing peace to the issue. There is no ignorance; there is knowledge.Where does ignorance end and knowledge begin? My thoughts are that would be at conception. The cell becomes aware of division when it divides, and that is the very beginning of knowledge. Though it isn't aware of I am, only that there is something else. Thus starts the long journey of learning, and acquisition of knowledge. All creatures are subject to this whether they are encased in a womb, or egg shell. At some point while encased they become aware of self, and parts of them, like when a human begins fidgeting with, or sucking it's thumb in the womb, or stretching out to make more room when it feels cramped in it's confined quarters. There is no passion; there is serenity.Passion is a strong driving emotion that can rob one of their serenity. A little passion goes a long way in ones walk through life. It is a driving to aspire to be the best you can be, but if it becomes an obsession, then it takes away any serene feeling you have, because it is never enough. So by limiting or controlling your passion you can remain serene, and content with what limits you have, not to say you shouldn't strive to be more, only don't allow passion to rob you of your serenity. There is no death; there is the Force. If there were not continuance in the Force, then why would their be any reason to learn, to acquire knowledge? You can't take it with you if their is nothing after this existence, so why bother? Why would great knowledge be coveted? If all you learn dies with you. People can say all manor of good things about you after you die, but if their is no continuance then you won't even know it nor care because it would be nothingness you would be in. No thought, no anything, not even a semblance of conscientiousness. So why bother if everything you do is no more than dust in the wind? Why acquire anything at all ?
Let us never neglect the oneness we have with nature and all the life within it through the Force. Let not the cares of the day overshadow that, life has so many distractions that can sometimes cause us to lose sight that, if only temporary. Try to reconnect daily if only for a few minutes, that peace may be with you from magnificence of it.
When we look at two emotions, love and hate. Hate is the opposite of love, but love is not the opposite of hate. The opposite of love is indifference.
The Force brings us peace of mind when used for good. It connects us to others and other life forms on our planet. When I commune with nature I feel the Force in nature and the creatures around me. It gives me calm, and connection with life around me. Even the animals seem to sense it, and know I will do them no harm, they seem to trust me a little more each day. The Force can help you solve problems, give you strength to overcome (in my case) what disabilities I now have and the strength of perseverance to overcome obstacles. It can and does change your path in life, and helps you understand why. Feeling the Force can become as natural as breathing in a very short time too. I view as important if not more than meditation alone. The Force has guided me through troubles. It takes a little time to understand it but it's well worth the time to make that connection. It's more than being able to move objects, or making energy balls, or even telekinesis, and astral projection. It's a well being you feel that defies explanation. Not to say those other things aren't fun, or helps you in life. It's just me I guess that wants well being and peace of mind and spirit in my life. And yes at times I do get carried away with things like stress at times, but it isn't long before the Force calms me again.
How can I describe the Force? Everything, within, around, passing through, and encompassing everything. As it passes through us it leaves, and takes things with, and from us, and passes it on to others, as they were passed on to us. I might could compare part of it, to computer threads. Their is information flowing across the air waves and wires, some are meant for everyone to see like news articles, posts in public forums, etc. and some are meant for only a few as in private forums, and private chat where specific information is passed to only a few who are connected to it, and passed from one to another through that thread. But even this is only a very small part of what the force can be compared to. It passes information to every planet, cloud, particle, in the known universe and beyond, it pulls things needed together to form other things, and it pulls things apart, to form still other things. What do I believe the Force to be in essence? In terms of religions I have dealt with, and even participated in from the past, It is the spirit and will of God sent by an infinite conscience being. What does this deity look like? I having only a very finite mind cannot begin to describe it's physical form of an infinite being, if it is a tangible form at all. When the Force cooks the life meal. It's starts with what takes the longest to cook first. sets the temperature and times to cook this to the right done-ness at the right time to be compatible with all the other courses of mother natures meal. Their are many courses being prepared at the same time, and must be presented at the right times, and in the right order that makes it palatable and beneficial to nature. As an example the Force presents the evolution of the squirrel at one time period and that of the fish at another time period as nature can consume them to her best benefit. All of the living things are all on the stove of the Force being cooked to the right done-ness to be beneficial. Let me narrow it down to human stew for now. Human stew is the whole human being changed and evolved to a next level. The temperature is set to be done at the time nature can consume it for the best benefit. The longest to take to cook is placed first in the kettle, and will take X time at the set temperature. followed by the next longest to cook and so-forth so all of that particular stew is done to the right doneness at the right time to be served. Along comes an inpatient someone and turns up the heat. What results is some items being burnt, over done, and some underdone. Or perhaps they change the time to be shorter or longer which results in an unpalatable plate set before nature and rejected by her for the same reasons of over and under cooked items, and the dish is thrown out by nature, such as the way of the dinosaur. or a sameness dish like some other spices that have become extinct. So we cannot rush the dish, or add things to make if different, or add them at the wrong times to make it work. we can only suggest, as nature suggests, to spice up or add ingredients to a dish to keep it interesting, and let the Force do the cooking, To many cooks spoil the stew. So yes suggest, but allow the master chef (The Force) to decide the ingredients, spices temperature, and cook times, or you'll ruin the dish and it will be thrown out. Space is too vast, and holds far to many things and mysteries for me to discount the existence of a God, or god like entity with great power, knowledge, and wisdom. Just as we are learning creatures, and accumulate knowledge, it would be extremely arrogant of me to think that something else out there didn't have that ability, or a life span so great that it didn't figure things out, and put them together. Just as man was not their in the beginnings of the universe, we can only hypothesize to it's beginnings and it's ends. Not to mention all things contained in that vastness. Man seems to only look at what we can see, and discount as nonexistent, the things we do not see, or slaps up side our literal conscientiousness before acknowledging it is there. Don't mistake this for me trying to push a belief on you, these are simply my own views, I allow you your own beliefs, and I shall adhere to mine. We as Jedi do allow duel beliefs, I put my Jedi beliefs first and foremost, and I do believe in a higher power than man. I believe that in the vastness of never ending space, time, and the Force. That anything you can imagine, probably can and does exist. Each governed by sets of physical, and non physical laws that make it possible for those things to be. The Force may set limits for each thing, not to keep them from us, or them what ever them are, but for our own, and their protection, and survival and well beings. As an example, when we are in tune with the Force we transcend into a dimension that isn't felt or seen by those who are not in tune with the Force. When we leave the confines of our physical being at our death if you will, and become a part if the living Force, we transcend still into another dimension that is governed by other sets of laws not subject to the physical laws that govern us now as we are. And it elevates us to the possibility that when we learn what is in that realm of existence, we may pass yet into another dimension above and beyond that too. It may also be possible to commune with those who have passed into those other dimensions, when we and they learn how to.
